Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) in Mesa, AZ seeks an Experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to perform strength, fatigue, and damage-tolerance analyses of metallic and composite components. You will use classical and finite element methods within an IPT, communicating under general supervision to deliver integrated solutions.

Responsibilities include developing structural requirements, coordinating with engineering groups, validating designs with FEM tools, and documenting test results

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, or Materials) required.
• 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience performing stress analysis on composite structures.
• 3+ years of FEM-based structural analysis with listed tools (Hypermesh, MSC Nastran/PATRAN, ABAQUS, Stress Check).
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document structural requirements to establish system design.
• Coordinate with engineering groups to define the product environment.
• Guide design and verify structural integrity using analytical methods, FEM models/simulations and other analysis tools.
• Develop test plans, support test execution and analyze results to validate systems meet requirements.
• Define and document certification and test results for customers and regulatory agencies.
• Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
