Job summary

Boeing's Composite Materials & Structures group seeks a candidate to develop and transition advanced structural architectures, and to advance methods for fracture, fatigue, and damage tolerance of composites.

The successful candidate will apply structural analysis techniques across product lifecycles for commercial and military aircraft, rotorcraft, space, UAVs, and prototypes, using FEM and coding in VBA, Python, or Matlab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
• Experience with Finite Element Modeling (FEM) tools (HyperX, ABAQUS, LSDYNA)
• Experience with aerospace stress analysis and/or structural analysis

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the system design
• Guide product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools
• Develop test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate components meet requirements and specifications
• Define and document test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
• Serves as investigator on single or multiple projects of complexity and scope consistent with above criteria
• Project management skills include cost and schedule tracking.
• Support proposal development and new business acquisition for contracted funded R&D
