Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security in Mesa, AZ seeks a Lead Structural Analysis Engineer to lead a team performing strength analyses of metallic and composite components. You will document results for IPTs and collaborate across disciplines in a dynamic, innovative environment.

The role requires advanced knowledge of classical and finite element methods and the ability to communicate with stakeholders and program leaders. Domestic travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering or equivalent required.
• 9+ years of related experience or equivalent.
• Experience with stress analysis on composite structures and laminates.
• 7+ years of finite element modeling with major tools.
• Experience with manufacturing/production systems preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of aircraft structure, composites, design practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.
• Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product environment.
• Guide product design and verify structural integrity using analytical methods and FEM; develop structural environment and performance.
• Lead development of test plans, support test execution and analyze results to validate requirements.
• Document certification and test results to support customers and regulatory agencies.
• Support in-service products by leading investigations into failures and improvements.
• Develop analytical processes/tools to improve efficiency of development.
