Job summary

Protingent Staffing has a contract Senior Stress Analyst opportunity. The role focuses on performing advanced mechanical analyses of reactor components to verify compliance with ASME BPVC, ASCE, and AISC while collaborating with a cross‑functional team to optimize designs and maintain QA standards.

Ideal candidates hold a BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience and strong ANSYS/SolidWorks proficiency, plus knowledge of seismic analysis and related codes.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Aerospace, Nuclear, and Civil Engineering degrees are also considered.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical analyses of reactor structures, systems, and nuclear island components to verify performance within codes and standards (ASME BPVC, ASCE, AISC).
  • Work with interdisciplinary engineers to optimize nuclear components design per functional and QA requirements.
  • Establish/maintain documents of analysis results and design solutions.
  • Perform peer reviews to maintain QA standards.
  • Mentor engineers and team members to build a skilled team.
  • Serve as technical point of contact for focus tasks.
