Job summary

City of Jacksonville Beach is seeking a qualified professional to serve as Streets/Distribution & Collection Superintendent. This role oversees the operation, maintenance, and repair of municipal transportation, stormwater, water, and wastewater systems, ensuring safe and compliant delivery of services for the community.

The candidate will supervise staff, coordinate projects, and review site plans to align with city standards, budgets, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; courses in civil engineering or related field.
• Seven years of experience in construction, operation, and maintenance of public works transportation and utilities.
• College degree in civil engineering preferred and may substitute for up to four years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and directs operation, maintenance, construction, and repair of streets, sidewalks, transportation, stormwater, water, and wastewater systems.
• Oversees sanitation contracts and beach maintenance; manages service maintenance and construction contracts.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements; prepares records and files.
• Schedules projects; ensures crews have equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Inspects streets, sidewalks, and infrastructure; determines repairs or expansions.
• Reviews site plans and development plans for water and sewer fees.
