JOB SUMMARY

Support leadership of Highmark or its affiliates with strategic activities essential to membership and margin goals. Strategy Analysts provide analytical and strategic support to enable project teams to: 1) identify business issues; 2) design and execute analytics (market research, scenario planning, forecasting, market share, profitability); 3) develop technical content (competitive intelligence, market trend analysis); 4) support recommendations to senior leadership; 5) create strategic documents informing critical decisions.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with business and market owners to identify key issues, define problems, apply analytical frameworks, develop solutions, and present findings to stakeholders.
• Lead or participate in small to medium strategy projects under guidance, utilizing internal or external consulting resources.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on membership, growth, and operational strategies.
• Provide informal guidance to team members and contribute to performance and development plans; may supervise projects.
• Apply broad knowledge to develop analytical frameworks and methodologies to analyze complex strategy issues, often innovatively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in strategy or management consulting within healthcare or related sectors.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience in Health Insurance operations and technology.
• Experience in operational improvements.

Skills:

• Strategic thinking principles and related knowledge.
• Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel).
• Understanding of healthcare industry trends.

Additional Information:

• Travel: 0-25%
• Position: Office-based with occasional travel.
• Physical demands include lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Compliance: Adheres to ethical, legal, and confidentiality standards, including HIPAA and company policies.

Salary Range: $92,300 - $172,500, based on experience and location.
