Job summary

HM Insurance Group seeks an experienced underwriter to manage a block of stop loss business, pricing and risk analysis within a matrix-driven team including Sales, Underwriting, and Clinical. You will guide pricing actions, drive P/L targets and negotiate renewals for key clients.

The role requires 10–15 years in underwriting, a relevant degree (or 6 years of experience in lieu), and leadership capabilities to train others while improving guidelines and processes.

Qualifications

• Experience with pricing and risk analysis for stop loss programs
• Ability to lead and train staff in underwriting practices

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business within an assigned block using rating manual, experience module and clinical expertise to drive P/L and sales targets.
• Collaborate with Sales, Underwriting and Clinical to implement pricing actions.
• Train and coach lower level staff to spread best practices.
• Enhance Underwriting Guidelines, processes and tools with market knowledge.
• Monitor block performance and report emerging financial trends; develop strategies to improve results.
• Support Sales negotiations to renew existing clients and enroll new business.
