Job summary

Lockton is seeking a seasoned Account Manager in Kansas City to oversee a portfolio of 30–50 client accounts with a focus on delivering high-quality client deliverables and serving as a subject matter expert for core teams and clients.

You will coach junior staff, partner with growth initiatives, and ensure timely, accurate renewals while maintaining licensing requirements. Travel is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience.
• 6–10 years in insurance/broker industry, consulting or account management.
• Strong interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent computer skills with knowledge of software packages.
• Current licenses or ability to obtain them.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel for client/team meetings.
• Legal right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Manage approximately 30–50 accounts with support from an Account Coordinator or Senior Account Coordinator.
• Present client deliverables to core teams and/or clients as needed.
• Be viewed as a Subject Matter Expert by core teams, clients, and team members.
• Contribute to management and associate development, including leadership coaching.
• Support growth by building relationships and coordinating with the growth team.
• Minimize escalations to complete renewals, including traditional and complex ones.
• Peer-review Client Specialist and Associate Consultant deliverables.
• Complete Phase 3 of Audits.
• Obtain/maintain professional licenses.
