Job summary

Memorial Hermann is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to provide sterilized instruments to the operating room and other hospital areas. This role may serve as the lead/charge on the shift as needed.

You will follow Standard Precautions, maintain instrument sterility, and collaborate with OR staff. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification, and at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Licenses: CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification required; CIS/CSIS preferred.
• Experience: minimum two years of sterilization of instruments and supplies.

Responsibilities

• May function as lead technician/charge on shift as needed.
• Handle and care for instruments and equipment per standards of sterilization.
• Maintain records and report equipment with repair needs.
• Organize, assemble and sterilize instruments and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control and hospital policies.
• Communicate delays or issues to OR and other areas.
• Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism and customer service.
