Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Sterile Processing Technician to maintain decontamination, assembly, inspection, wrapping and sterilization of surgical instruments for Surgical Services and ancillary departments. You will work closely with OR staff to provide timely sterile products, trays, and case carts, ensuring high-quality service and patient safety.

The role requires certification and demonstrates advanced knowledge of sterilization techniques, equipment, and the Sterile Processing

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent or GED.
• Experience: Two years of sterile processing experience.
• Licenses and Certifications: CRCST or CSPDT sterile processing certification.
• Knowledge and abilities: strong customer service focus and effective communication with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate and assemble complex surgical trays and instruments.
• Sterilize instruments per manufacturer instructions and policies.
• Prioritize sterile products based on OR schedule and department needs.
• Maintain continuous workflow between OR and Sterile Processing with excellent service.
