Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Nonexempt Sterile Processing Technician to join the Central Service team. You will decontaminate, assemble, sterilize and store surgical instruments, support the operating room, and maintain inventory while ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and other standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, certification within a year, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certification through IAHSCMM or CBSPD within one year of hire is required.
• Experience in sterile processing and knowledge of sterilization is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble, sterilize and store surgical instruments.
• Maintain inventory and support the operating room through the sterile core.
• Adhere to standards by Joint Commission, AAMI, IAHSCMM, AORN, OSHA and related bodies.
