Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Central Service Technician to support the operating room team by decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing instruments. You will participate in the cleaning and re-processing of reusable equipment and maintain inventory for the sterile core.

Required is a High School diploma or GED with a Central Service Technician certification to be obtained within one year of hire; vocational Central Service training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of instrumentation experience OR completion of a Central Service program with full Central Service Technician certification.
• Central Service Technician certification required within one year of hire.
• Additional experience/qualifications may be evaluated for higher-level roles.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of instruments and equipment.
• Cleaning, packaging and re-processing of reusable surgical equipment and scopes per manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Support the sterile core to meet the needs of the surgical team.
