Job summary

Clayco is seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Steel Procurement to lead on-site steel procurement logistics, verify deliveries, and coordinate with project teams to maintain schedules and budgets on large-scale projects. The role requires mentoring junior engineers and ensuring material tracking and documentation accuracy across the site.

The position emphasizes proactive issue resolution, collaboration with fabrication shops, and adherence to safety and quality standards on nationwide projects.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in construction, project engineering, field engineering, or materials coordination.
• Strong experience with steel erection, fabrication, logistics, or materials management strongly preferred.
• Advanced understanding of steel fabrication, shipping, and erection sequencing.
• Strong ability to read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and bills of material.
• Proficiency with delivery documentation (BOLs, packing slips, shipping logs).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating across multiple teams.
• Proactive problem-solving and issue identification.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily and weekly steel delivery coordination with PMs, SPMs, fabricators, dispatch teams, and site leadership.
• Oversee fabrication and delivery schedules to ensure alignment with project sequencing and erection plans.
• Identify schedule risks, delivery conflicts, or fabrication issues and drive timely resolution.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for steel delivery, logistics, and material sequencing on site.
