Job summary

Pacific Life is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist - Short Term Disability for a remote role based in Chattanooga, TN. The role leads end-to-end STD claim adjudication, partnering with clinical and vocational teams to support RTW decisions and ensure compliant, accurate outcomes.

You will refine claims processes, mentor teammates, and uphold Pacific Life values of integrity and accountability while navigating evolving regulations and complex cases.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience handling Short Term Disability claims.
• Knowledge of FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA, ADA requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication, empathetic claimant interactions.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of STD claims from intake to resolution.
• Collaborate with clinical/vocational partners to support RTW strategies.
• Serve as SME on STD claim practices and internal procedures.
• Document decisions and communicate clearly with claimants and employers.
• Mentor new team members and support onboarding.
• Work cross-functionally to ensure compliant, coordinated claims handling.
