Job summary

Symetra is seeking an Associate STD Case Manager to process short-term and statutory disability claims with accuracy and care. You will gather data from clinical and employer sources, analyze terms and conditions, and render timely decisions while maintaining thorough documentation.

You will engage in empathetic customer service, collaborate with teammates, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, supporting a positive claims outcome for clients and employers.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of STD claims experience preferred.
• Knowledge of STD, SDI, and Absence management products and relevant regulations preferred.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Make timely, accurate STD/SDI/AM claim decisions and gather needed information from clinical, vocational, employer, and other sources.
• Document the claim in the system and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain a high standard of empathy, teamwork, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
