Pacific Life Insurance Company in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist - Short Term Disability to lead end-to-end adjudication of complex STD claims and support the RTW journey. You will collaborate with clinical and vocational teams, ensure compliance with FMLA/ERISA/HIPAA, mentor colleagues, and contribute to process improvements while upholding Pacific Life values.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience handling Short Term Disability claims.
• Strong understanding of FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA, ADA regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with a customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse STD claim caseload from intake to resolution with timely decisions.
• Collaborate with clinical and vocational teams to develop RTW strategies and determine eligibility/durations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on STD practices and help refine internal procedures and workflows.
• Mentor new team members and support onboarding within the Workforce Benefits team.
