Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Stationary Engineer to monitor, maintain, and repair the campus boiler system and related plant equipment, while supervising Stationary Engineers and Maintenance Mechanics.

You will respond to service and emergency calls, manage off‑shift duties, and maintain medical gas and pneumatic tube systems across the hospital. Collaboration with external contractors and adherence to DOH/JCAIRCA standards are essential.

Qualifications

• 4 years’ experience with water-tube boilers and related equipment, including maintenance and repairs.
• Knowledge of reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Available to work off-shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform stationary engineering activities to ensure safe, continuous, and efficient operation of the campus boiler system and associated plant equipment, including preventive maintenance.
• Respond to or assign service and emergency calls; handle off-shift calls for facility issues such as electrical, plumbing, RHVAC.
• Maintain medical gas systems and pneumatic tube system throughout the hospital.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and engineering firms for proper installation of equipment.
• Maintain building elevator systems and coordinate repairs with external company to ensure safety.
• Demonstrate knowledge and application of DOH, Joint Commission, and IRCA requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
