Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a Stationary Engineer to maintain and operate stationary steam boilers, pumps and related equipment, ensuring safe, reliable plant operation.

The role requires daily water treatment of boilers, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with the Facilities department to meet the hospital's infrastructure needs while upholding high standards of cleanliness and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.
• Understanding of safe practices in daily operations and facilities maintenance.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and emergency situations.
• Knowledge of HSE policy and ensuring compliance with standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers, chiller, and auxiliary systems.
• Read gauges and meters and take action to ensure safe operation.
• Repacks valves, changes piping, lubricates compressors and pumps.
• Start, stop, and regulate boiler operations to maintain efficiency.
• Inspect boilers, pipelines, and equipment for leaks.
• Maintain records of readings for fuel, steam, and temperatures.
• Coordinate with Lead/Chief Stationary Engineers on needs.
• Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.
