Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks a senior engineer to lead the planning, design, and budgeting for station facilities, ensuring safe and reliable transmission and distribution infrastructure.

Responsibilities include directing engineering and design activities, supporting capital forecasting, and coordinating with multiple teams to deliver projects on time and within budget. A PE license is preferred and a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• At least eight years of electric utility engineering experience.
• At least three years leading engineering, construction, or operations assignments.
• Professional Engineer registration preferred; driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct and supervise the engineering and design of station facilities within approved schedules and budgets.
• Provide technical consultation and support across research, planning, operations and maintenance activities.
• Develop capital forecasts and coordinate with planning groups for capital improvements to stations and the system.
• Develop internal operating and salary budgets for Station Projects Engineering; ensure safety and compliance.
