Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. is seeking a Senior Stress Engineer to join the Engineering department. The role can be located in Wichita, Kansas or Mobile, Alabama, reporting to the Structures/Analysis team and focusing on aero structure design and verification.

You will perform advanced static stress analyses, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with Design and Fatigue teams to deliver robust airframe solutions for Airbus products globally.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Aero, Civil or Mechanical) required.
• Minimum nine years of total experience in analysis with airframe structures, including static stress analysis.
• Deep knowledge of classical and numerical stress analysis methods (FEA).
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment both independently and in teams.
• Strong communication skills in English and the ability to represent Engineering externally.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously perform complex analyses to verify structural integrity for airframes.
• Document analyses for trade studies or sign-off of drawings.
• Liaise with Design, Fatigue and other Airbus departments to optimize designs.
• Mentor and lead less experienced structural analysts.
• Lead preparation of technical material and presentations for customers.
• Guide projects to meet milestones and deadlines.
• Represent Engineering in presentations at Airbus-related activities.
