Job summary

Attain in Chicago is seeking a Senior/Staff Site Reliability Engineer to build and maintain the infrastructure that powers our fintech platform. Automation is central, using AI agents to remove toil, improve observability, and accelerate delivery across cloud environments.

You will partner with nearly every engineering team, write Terraform modules, deploy services with Helm in Kubernetes, define metrics and service mesh policies, and enhance our CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining large-scale cloud-native infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP.
• Demonstrated fluency directing AI coding agents to build, operate, and debug real infrastructure.
• Experience replacing manual operations with durable automation.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Istio or similar service mesh.
• Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL, Google BigQuery, and Google Spanner.

Responsibilities

• Automate operations to remove toil and manual work across systems.
• Develop and maintain Terraform modules, Helm charts, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure.
