Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer on the FinHub team within the Platform Product Group to define the technical vision for the ledger and money-movement architecture. You will drive reliability, correctness, and scale across trading, payments, financing, staking, and other financial products.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with production-scale backend systems.
• Experience designing financial, payments, ledger, or high-consequence transaction systems.
• Backend programming with Go, Java, or Python.
• Ability to drive multi-quarter technical strategy across teams without direct authority.
• Strong communication to align exec, engineering, product, finance, and operations stakeholders.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-quarter technical strategy for FinHub's ledger and money-movement platform.
• Architect unified primitives across fiat and crypto fund flows.
• Lead rearchitecture of distributed workflows with correct accounting and auditability.
• Drive end-to-end design and rollout of large cross-team initiatives.
• Partner with Payments, Product, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Operations.
• Provide deep technical mentorship to senior and staff engineers.
