Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the FinHub team to shape the ledger and money-movement platform. You will define the technical vision, drive architecture for large-scale financial systems, and mentor engineers across multiple teams.

You''ll collaborate with Payments, Product, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to align architecture with customer experience and regulatory obligations, while ensuring correctness, security, and reliability at scale.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in backend distributed systems.
• Experience with financial/ledger or high-consequence transaction systems.
• Strong backend programming in Go, Java, or Python and system design skills.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-quarter technical strategy for FinHub ledger and money-movement platform.
• Architect reusable primitives across fiat and crypto fund flows.
• Lead rearchitecture of distributed workflows with correct accounting and auditability.
• Drive end-to-end design and rollout of cross-team initiatives.
• Partner with Payments, Product, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Operations.
• Mentor senior engineers and raise architecture and reliability standards.
