Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the FinHub team to define the technical vision for a robust financial infrastructure. You will lead the ledger and money-movement architecture to ensure correctness, security, reliability, and scale across trading, payments, and financing.

You will drive cross-team initiatives, collaborate with Payments, Product, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Operations, and mentor engineers to elevate platform quality and long-term maintainability.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in production systems.
• Experience designing financial or high-consequence transaction systems.
• Strong track record in distributed systems, concurrency, and scalable backends.
• Excellent communication with executives, product, finance, and ops.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-quarter technical strategy for FinHub's ledger and money-movement platform.
• Architect reusable primitives across fiat and crypto fund flows.
• Lead rearchitecture of distributed workflows with correct accounting and auditability.
• Drive end-to-end design and rollout of large, cross-team initiatives with clear milestones.
• Mentor senior engineers and raise the bar for system design and reliability.
