Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Engineering Manager for the FINT team within FinHub in the Platform group. You will lead engineers building the account and transaction history infrastructure that underpins every Coinbase product and guide the team through re-architecting foundational systems for the next decade of scale.

You will own the Finhub Tools roadmap, define architectural decisions, and collaborate with product, finance, and leadership to deliver an ambitious quarterly roadmap while recruiting

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with at least 2 years of engineering management experience, including hiring, coaching, and developing engineers
• Proven track record delivering and operating distributed systems at scale in production, with hands-on ability to review code, lead incidents, and triage issues when needed
• Demonstrated success translating ambiguous, long-horizon technical problems into concrete execution plans with measurable milestones
• Experience with financial systems, event-driven architectures, or high-precision transaction processing where correctness and reliability are critical
• Comfort leading teams with diverse scope (backend services, streaming pipelines, and full-stack tooling) with an appreciation for developer and operator UX
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of 6 engineers across multiple levels, coaching on technical excellence, career development, and organizational impact
• Drive the re-architecture of core account and history systems to support new product primitives and higher throughput demands at Coinbase's next stage of growth
• Own the Finhub Tools roadmap, building internal UIs, dashboards, and agentic workflows that accelerate engineering and operations teams across the company
• Shape architectural decisions across distributed systems, streaming pipelines, and full-stack tooling, fostering a culture of high-quality code and thorough design reviews
• Collaborate with product, finance, and engineering leadership to define and execute a quarterly roadmap, breaking complex infrastructure projects into iterative, shippable milestones
• Partner with the talent organization to recruit exceptional engineers and own engineering quality processes including SLA accountability, incident response, and on-call practices
