Affirm, Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer to lead backend systems at scale. You will design, develop, and launch backend services using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes, and build front-end components with React or Vue.

You're comfortable navigating ambiguity, delivering major features, and guiding a team through technical decisions, code reviews, and on-call reliability. Remote-first with flexible in-person onboarding within the U.S.

Qualificações

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Proficient in backend design at scale with Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes.
• Proficient in web apps with React or Vue.
• Experience delivering major features with a technical plan.
• Comfort moving from low-level idioms to large system architecture.
• Growth trajectory showing feedback from peers.
• Strong verbal and written communication for a global team.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Responsabilidades

• You will be responsible for setting technical strategy for your team on a year-long time scale.
• You will collaborate across teams in product development with product management, design & analytics.
• You will act as a force-multiplier for your team through technical solutions and processes.
• You will own team operations and availability with monitoring, on-call, and playbooks.
• You will set code review and design standards and advocate for them beyond your team.
• You will develop talent by giving feedback and guidance.
