Affirm, Inc. is seeking a senior Identity Engineering leader to own and deliver backend systems at scale. You will design high-availability services in Python or Kotlin, and guide teams through ambiguous challenges while collaborating with product, design and analytics across the stack.

You will drive operations, code quality, and talent development, ensuring robust, low-latency services on critical paths for all products. Remote-first, flexible work is available across the United States.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Track record of building highly available distributed systems with AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Experience defining a technical plan for delivering a significant feature with simple, extensible design.
• Strong ownership and willingness to grow, with proactive feedback from team and stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for collaboration with global engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
