Job summary

Abbott seeks a Sr. Staff Software Architect to lead architecture and implementation strategies for healthcare software across native, web, and cloud applications.

You will promote best practices, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and drive scalable, high‑quality solutions that meet regulatory requirements. The role requires strong cloud (AWS/Azure) experience, deep CS fundamentals, and a track record of mentoring teams and delivering complex systems in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field with 10+ years of experience, or Master's with 7+ years, or PhD with 2+ years.
• Experience with at least one public cloud platform: AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with data design and database technologies such as SQL Server or Postgres.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of architecture and implementation strategies for software solutions in healthcare.
• Promote adherence to architectural best practices and govern reference architecture.
• Develop software reference architecture, roadmaps, and detailed technical solutions for native, web, and cloud apps.
• Collaborate with teams to optimize performance, scalability, and maintainability of software architectures.
• Participate in requirements gathering, planning, and estimation efforts.
• Support regulatory compliance with FDA and other agencies.
