Abbott is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and evolve full‑stack, cloud‑native applications on Microsoft Azure for a mission‑critical healthcare SaaS platform.

You will lead architecture decisions, mentor peers, and deliver scalable services using Java 11+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Angular. Strong Azure experience and secure coding practices are required for this on‑site US role in Pleasanton.

Qualifications

• 10+ years backend development experience with full‑stack capabilities.
• Proven leadership in Java 11+, Spring Boot, Microservices and REST APIs.
• Experience with Azure Cloud and Azure PaaS services.
• Strong frontend skills in Angular, TypeScript and NgRx.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement microservices with Java, Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Build cloud‑native SaaS apps following well‑architected principles on Azure.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in Agile (Scrum/Kanban).
• Ensure security, performance, and code quality.
