Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build and evolve full-stack, cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure. You will design microservices, develop REST APIs, and implement secure, scalable solutions for a mission-critical healthcare SaaS system.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in an Agile setting. Strong Azure experience and frontend skills are valued.

Qualifications

10+ years of backend development experience and leadership in Java/Spring Boot.
Experience building cloud-native SaaS on Azure; API-first design.
Frontend skills with Angular/TypeScript are a plus.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and implement microservices using Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
Build cloud-native SaaS apps on Azure with scalable architecture.
Work with Azure services like Service Bus, Cosmos DB, and Blob Storage.
Develop Angular front-ends with NgRx for state management.
Write unit tests with JUnit/Jest and support CI/CD pipelines.
Mentor junior engineers and drive architectural decisions.
Collaborate in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment.
