Job summary

ServiceNow, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of shared, multi-tenant platform services on Kubernetes. You will own HA, DR, and cross-region architecture, while hands-on coding and mentoring engineers across a global team.

Experience in Go, distributed systems, and production-grade data services is essential. This hybrid role includes collaboration with Data Platform Engineering and ties to US Regulated Markets.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software development experience with a Bachelor's degree; OR 8+ years with a Master's degree; OR 5+ years with a PhD; OR equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years building production software, with solid experience operating distributed systems and running stateful workloads on Kubernetes at scale.
• A track record of leading the design and delivery of at least one shared, multi-tenant infrastructure service used broadly by other teams.
• Deep understanding of high availability and failure handling: replication topologies, leader election, quorum and consensus, and DR targets.
• Strong system design skills and ability to discuss tenancy, isolation, and cost trade-offs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of shared platform services on Kubernetes across a large global fleet.
• Define HA, failover, disaster-recovery, and multi-region architecture for owned services.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers and raise the engineering bar through reviews and feedback.
• Hands-on design, coding, and review of core systems such as operators and infrastructure automation.
• Partner with senior engineers to align work with platform architecture and product team needs.
