ServiceNow, Inc. is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer in the Data Platform Engineering group.

You will be the hands-on technical lead delivering shared platform services on Kubernetes across a global fleet, owning availability and operation from design to production. You will collaborate with principal engineers, design multi-region architectures, and mentor engineers while maintaining a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Experience leading design and delivery of shared, multi-tenant infrastructure services.
• Proven ability to design HA, failover, DR for stateful services.
• Strong understanding of RPO/RTO, durability targets, and capacity planning.
• Experience with cloud providers and Kubernetes operators is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of shared platform services (Postgres, queueing/streaming, key-value stores) on Kubernetes.
• Act as technical lead for major initiatives with explicit availability, durability and cost targets.
• Define HA, failover, DR, and multi-region architecture; build Kubernetes-native automation.
• Partner with engineers to align work with platform standards and SLOs for services.
• Identify risks early; drive resolution with emphasis on reliability and operability.
• Spend significant time coding and reviewing core systems (operators, controllers, automation).
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, raising engineering standards through reviews and pairing.
