Job summary

Lyra Health in the United States is seeking a Staff ML/AI Engineer to define the architectural vision for Lyra's machine learning and generative AI technology landscape.

In this role, you will serve as a technical anchor across the engineering and data organizations—architecting enterprise-scale AI platforms, setting technical strategy for high-impact AI/ML initiatives, and ensuring our AI products operate with top-tier reliability, security, and medical precision.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience deploying complex ML/AI solutions into production environments with leadership experience.
• Deep system and software engineering expertise: Python, RESTful APIs, Protobuf, microservices.
• Production AI/ML infrastructure mastery: Docker, Kubernetes, real-time inference services.
• Modern generative AI architecture: RAG pipelines, fine-tuning LLMs, vector databases, evaluation/guardrails.
• Data layer systems: relational DBs, low-latency stores, Kafka/Celery, data pipeline orchestration.
• Cloud architecture: experience with AWS or equivalent.
• Strategic communication to align engineering, product, and business goals.

Responsibilities

• Drive AI Platform Architecture: design long-term roadmap for ML and generative AI platforms across Lyra.
• Lead AI Infrastructure Vision: build end-to-end training, fine-tuning, and inference platforms with guardrails.
• Set Engineering Excellence Standards: CI/CD, dataset lineage, model evaluation, red-teaming, monitoring.
• Cross-Functional Technical Leadership: partner with PM, Data Science, Security, Clinical leaders.
• Mentor and Multiply Impact: elevate engineering culture, conduct architectural reviews, promote best practices.
• Hands-On Leadership: deliver technical prototypes and contribute code.
• And of course, you will be coding!
