Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze ruggedized electronics packaging for space and aerospace platforms. You will lead concepts through qualification, using CAD, FEA, and thermal/vibration analyses, and collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure robust integration.

The role demands 12+ years in avionics or ruggedized packaging, proficiency in SolidWorks and Ansys, and experience with MIL-STD-810/DO-160G.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years in avionics or ruggedized packaging design and analysis.
• Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks) and FEA (Ansys).
• Familiarity with EMI/EMC mitigation and environmental qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from concept to qualification and field support.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers on packaging and interfaces.
• Present design review materials to customers and leadership.
• Support proposals and cost analyses.
