Job summary

Boston Dynamics in Waltham, MA, seeks a Sr. Staff Manufacturing Engineer to scale Atlas assembly from prototype to low-volume production. You will lead process development, tooling, and fixtures, while collaborating with Hardware, Systems, and Behavior teams to ensure repeatable, high-quality builds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s/PhD a plus.
• 8–15 years of process engineering/advanced manufacturing experience, preferably in robotics/aerospace or complex electromechanical systems.
• Expert CAD proficiency for tool/fixture design and review of drawings; DFM/DFA collaboration with design teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize rate production processes and assembly workflows for Atlas from prototype to low-volume production.
• Design and implement production system tools and layout plans, including value stream mapping and automation integrations.
• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and visual aids for assembly technicians; support on-site prototype builds.
