Job summary

Boston Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a Staff Test Development Engineer in Waltham, MA to own and evolve manufacturing test software for Atlas.

You will bridge prototype testing and high-volume production by industrializing bench tests into robust, scalable End‑of‑Line systems, owning calibration, data management, and verification. You will lead architecture, debugging, and optimization of test suites to maximize line throughput, while collaborating cross-functionally with engineering and

Qualifications

BS Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience in integration and deployment of new, custom mechatronic systems.
Strong interest in software systems that interact with robotic hardware.
Experience with electro-mechanical actuation subsystems or related tech.
Proficiency in Python and/or C++ for debugging and scripting automation.
Strong databases and SQL knowledge.
Experience with Linux-based systems and Git.
Familiarity with robotics hardware and test fixtures.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, implement, deploy, and maintain new tools for test framework and control strategies.
Debug, maintain and improve existing test systems on the production floor.
Refactor test code to optimize execution times and reduce false failures.
Hands-on test stand development, system design, and data analysis.
