Job summary

S&B is seeking a Senior Staff Lead Mechanical Engineer to independently perform mechanical design across phases for moderate projects. The role requires full competence in standard design methods and independent judgment for evaluation and adaptation of procedures.

Key duties include preparing scope estimates, equipment lists, staffing plans, and detailed project schedules. Candidates should have 12+ years in mechanical design, an active PE license, and experience with ASME/API standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited).
• Minimum of twelve years in mechanical design or related field.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license; ability to obtain reciprocal licensure in other states.

Responsibilities

• Prepare basic design sketches and perform calculations for equipment, components, structures or systems.
• Develop equipment lists, priced lists, and work-hour estimates for mechanical scope.
• Create and maintain project schedules and staffing plans; supervise assigned engineers.
• Interpret codes/standards (ASME BPVC, API) and ensure conformance in designs.
