Job summary

S&B seeks a Senior Staff General Mechanical Engineer in the Greenville, SC area to independently perform mechanical design across project phases. Requires a PE license, ABET-accredited degree, and extensive experience with pumps, compressors, vessels, HVAC, and related codes.

Responsibilities include sketches, calculations, field data collection, vendor bid evaluation, and equipment data sheet preparation. Travel <10% as needed.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE License required or able to obtain reciprocal licensing.
• Proficient with CAD software and reading/ applying engineering codes.

Responsibilities

• Prepares basic design sketches and performs calculations for equipment design.
• Conducts field trips to gather operating data and equipment information.
• Gathers data to prepare equipment specifications and purchase requisitions.
• Evaluates vendor bids and drawings for compliance with specs.
• Prepares equipment data sheets and reviews PFDs/P&IDs.
• Interprets engineering codes and standards (ASME BPVC, API).
• Assists in reviews of design guides and specifications.
