Job summary

S&B is seeking a Senior Staff General Mechanical Engineer to independently perform mechanical design across all project phases for a small project or segments of a larger one. You will apply conventional design methods and exercise independent judgement with clear objectives.

The role requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and an active PE license, with at least 12 years of mechanical design experience.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Active PE license; reciprocal licensing preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficient with CAD tools and reading/writing codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares basic design sketches and calculations for equipment, components, structures, or systems.
• Conducts field trips to gather operating data and equipment information.
• Gathers data to prepare equipment specifications and purchase requisitions.
• Evaluates bids to ensure compliance with specifications for simple equipment.
• Participates in reviewing PFDs and P&IDs.
• Prepare equipment data sheets.
