Job summary

Palo Alto Networks in Bridgeport, CT seeks an Infrastructure Engineer to build developer tooling that accelerates velocity and reliability across our engineering organization. You will own the full lifecycle from local tools to CI/CD, deploying modern cloud-native infrastructure.

You will work with Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms, drive systemic quality, and mentor teams while shaping platform standards for a 1–3 year horizon. This role is remote.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering in cloud-native environments.
• Proven experience with at least one backend language (Go/Java/Python/Rust).
• Strong cloud-native understanding and experience with AWS or GCP.
• Knowledge of Linux internals, networking, and security concepts.
• Experience building distributed systems and debugging at scale.

Responsibilities

• Architect & Build: design and maintain high-scale developer tooling and backend services.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): deploy and manage environments with Terraform.
• Drive Systemic Quality: reduce bottlenecks in the SDLC through architecture changes and tooling.
• Scale & Reliability: ensure resilience under heavy traffic with cost-aware optimization.
• Strategic Leadership & Mentorship: set platform standards and mentor teams across projects.
