Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking a visionary Sr. Staff Engineer to lead architectural innovation and strategic technical direction.

You will shape the long-term technical landscape, enabling cross-functional execution at scale and aligning engineering with product and business outcomes. You will mentor senior engineers, define scalable patterns, and drive customer-centric engineering while balancing short-term deliverables with long-term system health and sustainability.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software engineering with group-level leadership.
• Experience with Kotlin, Java or Go and system design for scale and performance.
• Full-stack capability with frontend in React/Next/GraphQL.
• Experience scaling shared infrastructure across teams.
• Proficiency with CI/CD workflows and cloud infra; observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve architectural vision for customer-facing systems aligned with business strategy.
• Lead patterns and frameworks ensuring quality, resilience, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to shape product direction.
• Mentor senior technical leaders and foster a culture of learning and high standards.
• Navigate ambiguity, remove blockers, and accelerate delivery of strategic initiatives.
• Translate customer needs into scalable technical solutions embedded in the platform.
