Job summary

SailPoint is seeking a Senior Staff DevOps Engineer for the Infrastructure Platform on a fully remote basis in the USA or Canada. You will lead service mesh rollout, Kubernetes operations on AWS, and security/compliance work including PCI DSS. Strong hands-on background with Istio/Linkerd is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing, implementing, and operating a service mesh at scale in production Kubernetes environments.
• 10+ years of experience in 24x7 production operations for SaaS/cloud services.
• 5+ years of Terraform (IaC) across multiple AWS accounts and regions.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes/microservices.
• Strong scripting in Python/Go and shell; solid Linux networking knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the full lifecycle of service mesh implementation at scale across hundreds of microservices on EKS.
• Establish service mesh standards and governance organization-wide with runbooks and policies.
• Mentor engineers on service mesh architecture, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
• Design, operate, and optimize production Kubernetes clusters on AWS (EKS) with multi-tenant isolation.
• Define Kubernetes standards including RBAC, security policies, Helm conventions, and deployment patterns.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, incident response, and capacity management using GitOps and CI/CD.
