Job summary

SailPoint Technologies Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff DevOps Engineer to lead the Infrastructure Platform’s global Kubernetes and service mesh initiatives.

You will design, implement, and operate a secure, scalable Identity Security Cloud infrastructure on AWS, collaborating with teams across regions. The role is fully remote for candidates in the USA or Canada, with significant influence, mentoring, and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating a service mesh at scale in production Kubernetes environments.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in 24x7 production operations for SaaS/cloud services.
• 10+ years of experience with containerization, virtualization, and configuration management.
• 5+ years of hands-on Kubernetes in production at scale.
• 5+ years of Terraform across multiple AWS accounts/regions.
• 5+ years of CI/CD pipelines for Terraform, Kubernetes, and microservices.
• 5+ years of scripting in Python or Go and strong shell scripting.
• Strong understanding of Linux, networking, distributed systems, and production troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated experience scaling a service mesh across a large microservices fleet.
• Familiarity with PCI DSS and related compliance practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of service mesh implementation at scale across hundreds of microservices on EKS.
• Establish governance, onboarding runbooks, traffic templates, and incident playbooks.
• Mentor engineers on service mesh architecture, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
• Design, operate, and optimize production Kubernetes clusters on AWS (EKS).
• Define Kubernetes standards, security hardening, and deployment patterns.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and capacity management with GitOps and CI/CD.
• Improve platform practices, runbooks, and platform engineering standards.
• Support PCI compliance design, controls, and audit readiness.
