Job summary

UKG is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to build and maintain the public/private cloud's PaaS layer. You will partner with Agile teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment of UKG software across cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities include managing tools, enabling self-service portals for product development, and mentoring engineers while aligning with UKG guidelines and industry best practices. This role emphasizes scalability, reliability, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
10+ years building/configuring cloud infrastructure on-prem or public cloud (GCP preferred).
10+ years programming experience (Java, Golang, Ruby, Python).
10+ years managing Linux-based platforms.
10+ years with Cloud Native solutions (GCP/AWS/Azure).
10+ years DevOps tools and practices (Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, Vault, CI/CD).
Experience with container tech (Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong scripting in two of Perl, Bash, Python, PowerShell.
Networking experience (TCP/IP, Firewalls, SSL, Load Balancing, WAFs, DNS).
Experience with microservices, REST, and SRE principles.

Responsibilities

Manage, improve, and maintain our tools and services stack across the organization and deliver value incrementally.
Build mature applications and services to enable product development teams via an in-house self-service portal.
Collaborate with Development and Engineering to understand gaps and requirements.
Participate in team meetings and mentor engineers on best practices.
Write technical specifications and documentation.
Contribute to cross-functional on-call rotations.
