Job summary

UKG is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain our Platform as a Service layer across cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with Agile teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment, leveraging Go, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software engineering, strong DevOps experience, and ability to own complex projects from design to production in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 1.5 years of GitOps/DevOps experience building Infrastructure as Code pipelines or processes to support large teams
• Deep expertise in programming languages such as Go, C, C++, C#, .NET, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Extensive experience with GitOps tooling (GitHub Actions), Terraform and Ansible for CI/CD and container deployments.
• Deep experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud deployment platforms
• Experience with cloud technologies like Azure, AWS, GCP and GitHub
• Proficiency in telemetry/observability
• Knowledge of Kubernetes operators and networking (Services, Ingress, Gateway API)
• Experience with API gateway and edge routing technologies (NGINX, Envoy, Kong)

Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable code for software applications and systems.
• Drive technical strategy and project alignment with business goals.
• Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver software on time and within budget.
• Architect and develop scalable, reliable systems in a DevOps model.
• Coach junior engineers and mentor ownership of services and features.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
