Job summary

Altera in San Jose, CA is seeking a senior Design Automation/STA lead responsible for defining and delivering production timing flows and sign-off methodologies across ASIC and FPGA-style designs.

You will mentor a small team, work across design, physical design, and reliability groups, and partner with EDA vendors to evolve the timing toolchain. A strong background in SPICE, Liberty modeling, and automation is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field.
  • 10+ years in semiconductor design automation or CAD/EDA related roles.
  • Extensive experience with STA and timing sign-off methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Python, Tcl, and shell scripting for automation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and release production-grade timing flows and regression suites.
  • Triaging timing issues with live tape-outs and supporting design teams.
  • Mentor engineers and set methodology direction in timing/DA.
  • Engage with ASIC/physical design teams to define requirements and drive roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with EDA vendors to evaluate capabilities and resolve blockers.
