Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is seeking a Senior SRE to strengthen reliability, observability, and security across our platforms. You will lead the establishment of SRE foundations, implement observability standards, and partner with Security to meet risk management expectations.

Although not a people manager, you will mentor engineers, drive incident readiness, and collaborate with global teams to ensure BAU readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years hands‑on SRE/Platform Engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Azure services including AKS, Azure Container Apps, VMs, VNet, Entra ID, and managed services.
• Hands‑on Kubernetes and containerized platforms.
• Proven experience designing and operating observability platforms (metrics, logs, tracing).
• Hands‑on Datadog experience for metrics, logs, APM, and alerting.
• Strong knowledge of SRE principles (SLOs, error budgets, incident management).
• Understanding cloud security principles and collaboration with security teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead establishment of SRE foundations for new projects and environments.
• Define and champion observability standards across metrics, logs, traces, and SLOs/SLIs.
• Design and evolve monitoring and alerting to improve visibility and reduce toil.
• Drive reliability improvements through incidents, tuning, and resilient patterns.
• Collaborate with Security teams to meet compliance and risk expectations.
• Lead handovers from project delivery to BAU SRE operations with solid documentation.
