Job summary

Backblaze is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) organization and drive reliability across production systems.

You will hire and mentor a high-performing team, define reliability priorities, and collaborate across engineering to advance observability and automation. The role involves incident leadership, RCA, and continuous improvement in a large-scale environment.

Qualifications

10+ years of site reliability engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure, or production operations with leadership experience.
Experience leading reliability or infrastructure orgs operating large-scale systems.
Strong automation and Linux expertise.

Responsibilities

Hire, lead, and develop a high-performing team of Site Reliability Engineers and engineering managers.
Define strategic reliability priorities and ensure commitments are met.
Improve automation for deploying storage vaults, servers, and infrastructure.
Drive vulnerability management, patching schedules, and security requirements.
Lead incident response, RCA, and post-incident follow-up actions.
Collaborate on observability, monitoring, and alerting improvements across Backblaze.
