Backblaze is seeking a Senior Manager to lead a Site Reliability Engineering team, driving reliability, automation, and operational excellence across production systems. You will collaborate with engineering leaders, executives, customers, and stakeholders to set reliability priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.

You will own and improve vulnerability management, incident response, and post-incident processes while expanding observability with VictoriaMetrics, Prometheus, Grafana, and

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure, or production operations, including leadership.
• Proven ability to build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
• Experience leading large-scale, production-grade reliability or infrastructure orgs.

Responsibilities

• Hire and develop a high-performing team of SREs; manage engineering managers as needed.
• Define reliability priorities and track measurable outcomes across Backblaze.
• Develop automation to accelerate deployment of storage vaults and core infrastructure.
• Own patching schedules and vulnerability management to meet security requirements.
• Drive SLA and reliability performance analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Improve observability, monitoring, and alerting with modern tooling across the stack.
• Lead incident response, post-incident reviews, and root cause analyses.
