Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager for Site Reliability Engineering to drive reliability, automation, and observability across our digital commerce platforms. You will lead a team of SREs, set strategy, and mentor engineers to raise the bar on engineering excellence.

Remote (ET/CT) or Hybrid near Newport News, VA, with a focus on modern DevOps practices, Kubernetes adoption, CI/CD improvements, and incident-driven learning that delivers measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years Linux production experience and 3+ years leading or managing SRE teams.
• Strong hands-on with Kubernetes and Docker in production.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Proficient with Terraform and Puppet for IaC and config management.
• Experience with load balancing, Nginx, Apache Tomcat.
• Familiar with Datadog observability and JFrog Artifactory.
• Experience defining incident response and on-call practices.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing group of Site Reliability Engineers who coordinate the reliability, availability, and performance of Linux-based systems and infrastructure supporting digital commerce applications.
• Set technical and strategic vision for the SRE domain, driving adoption of Kubernetes and modern SRE/DevOps practices.
• Define CI/CD standards and improve pipelines using GitHub Actions and infrastructure-as-code tooling like Terraform.
• Guide configuration management and automation using Puppet and Python to reduce toil.
• Oversee load balancing, web/app server tuning (Nginx, Tomcat), and virtualization (F5, VMware).
• Champion observability using Datadog and artifact management with JFrog Artifactory.
• Lead incident management, RCA, on-call practices, and durable engineering improvements.
• Drive SRE/DevOps adoption of SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and cross-team collaboration.
